Who we are
The National Parking Association is an independent, non-governmental national association of parking operators and contractors in India. Active since 2019, it brings together individuals, firms and companies that run parking sites under municipal corporations, development authorities, railways, airports, metro rail corporations and other public and private landowners, so that the sector can speak with one organised, responsible and united voice.
Parking operators provide an essential public service, yet they often work under difficult conditions: reserve prices unrelated to actual occupancy, rigid penalty clauses, delayed handover of sites, encroachment of allotted areas, free unregulated parking close by, and termination or blacklisting without a proper hearing. During the COVID-19 pandemic, when lockdowns brought traffic to a standstill, the Association took up the cause of numerous operators before the concerned authorities and helped them secure licence-fee waivers and relief, reducing their financial losses. That experience strengthened our conviction that operators need a permanent, well-organised platform for representation and support.
The Association places the collective concerns of its members before government departments and public authorities through memoranda, meetings and dialogue; helps members understand tender documents and contractual obligations; connects them with a panel of experienced legal advocates; and promotes fair, transparent and lawful parking practices, including honest fee collection and courteous service to citizens. In 2026 it launched its bilingual national digital platform to serve members in every State and Union Territory. The Association is not a government body and exercises no statutory or regulatory power; its strength lies in the unity, integrity and active participation of its members.
Our objectives
- To act as the national representative association of parking operators and contractors in India.
- To place the collective problems of operators before municipal corporations, development authorities, railways, airports, metro rail corporations and traffic police, and to pursue their resolution.
- To help members understand tender documents — eligibility conditions, EMD, reserve price and penalty clauses — before they bid.
- To provide legal guidance and access to a panel of advocates for members facing wrongful termination, arbitrary penalties, blacklisting or forfeiture.
- To seek fair and balanced contract terms, including force-majeure relief, proportionate licence fee for a reduced area and timely refund of deposits.
- To promote ethical, transparent and citizen-friendly parking practices and a code of conduct among members.
- To encourage the adoption of digital fee collection (FASTag, UPI, electronic receipts) and modern parking technology.
- To conduct training, research and awareness programmes, and to offer constructive suggestions on parking policy at city, state and national levels.
